The evacuation operations launched in Khartoum are continuing. Two more return flights from Khartoum to Djibouti were provided by the Air and Space Force during the day of 24 April, each with some 100 people on board.

Since the start of the operation, these round trips have enabled a total of 491 people to be evacuated, including 196 French nationals wanting to leave Sudan, and a significant number of citizens of 36 other countries, particularly in Europe (Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) but also Africa (Burundi, Chad, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Morocco, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan, Togo and Uganda), [North] America (United States and Canada) and Asia (Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand and the Philippines).

To coordinate the operation, the French Embassy in Sudan and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs’ Crisis and Support Centre, which set up a crisis unit on 15 April, have been in permanent contact with our nationals on the ground and all our partners.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for the Armed Forces are continuing their efforts to ensure our compatriots are made safe.

France reiterates its call to all the parties to stop fighting and return to political dialogue.

France remains in constant and close contact with its European partners.
