The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched the first unexpected counterattack in the Zaporozhye region since the beginning of the year.
The night before, Ukrainian troops stationed on the left bank of the Zaporozhye region launched an unexpected counterattack on the Orekhovo-Pologi line. Initially, the Gray Zone information resource reported on the counterattack of the Ukrainian army, noting that the attack was carried out in the Orekhovo direction, however, a little later, the journalists of the WarGonzo project announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine also they started fighting in the Pologovsky district of the Zaporozhye region.
Despite the unexpected counterattack of the Ukrainian troops, who actively used artillery and armored vehicles (including tanks), the servicemen of the 291st motorized rifle regiment managed, after several hours of fighting, to repel the attack of the armed forces Ukrainians, pushing Ukraine’s army back to its previous positions. However, according to Russian military correspondents, the ongoing attack may only be reconnaissance ahead of wider military operations in the region, as Ukrainian troops numbering around 40 are present only in this direction of the front line, which exceeds the number of armies of a number of European countries.

Earlier, Vladimir Rogov announced that Ukraine is transferring its combat aircraft to the Zaporozhye region, moreover, we are talking not only about helicopters, but also about combat aircraft.
